“This is a financial investment and we retain control over our game and the destiny of the studio, but we also look forward to building a strong relationship with Tencent,” Raeburn says in an interview with Games Industry. The money should go towards technology and expansion of the studio.

The team was to be approached by several publishers, but Tencent came up with an offer that best “aligned with Lighthouse Games’ vision”. “This is a fresh start that allows us to build a game from the ground up without using legacy technology. The chains are falling. It’s a really liberating feeling,” Raeburn explains.

The developers are very ambitious. They are working on a AAA game that they say will define the genre. We do not know anything more about her yet, even considering the recent start of her studies.
