Ubisoft will make a remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag

Ubisoft will be working on a remake of one of the most popular parts of the series, according to two anonymous sources of Kotaku magazine. Assassin’s Creed subtitled Black Flag. The new form of pirate adventure is still in its early stages and we shouldn’t expect it in the next few years.

It’s unclear what direction the proposed development will take, whether the developers will stick to the original vision and rather the adventure concept of the games from the popular series, or try to emulate Odyssey and Valhalla and turn Edward Kenway’s story into a big scale role-playing game. In any case, the Ubisoft Singaporean team behind complex ocean technology should be actively involved in development.

Black Flag will be revived in spite of or thanks to the multiplayer pirate action. Skull and Bones we are still waiting. It is supposed to be based on the naval battles from Assassin’s Creed IV. Since 2017, when the name was announced, we have seen a number of delays and information about problematic developments. The beta is due in August, but will eventually be for PC only.
