Although the latest generation of processors in the form of the Ryzen 7000 series has been out since last fall, AMD decided to release another, possibly the last model on socket AM4. The Ryzen 5 5600X3D processor is similar to the popular Ryzen 7 5800X3D, only with fewer cores and a slightly lower frequency, but its release is a bit more complicated.
We received the announcement not even directly from AMD, but through various YT magazines or channels, such as Gamers Nexus. This is due to the fact that the American Microcenter store is engaged in the release, which means only one thing – you can’t buy a processor anywhere other than the US. And why so? This is not quite a classic release of the new model. Over time, AMD accumulated a fairly large number of partially defective 5800X3D chips that could be sold as a junior model. It was not enough for a global release, but it was for a specific market, so it will only be available in the Microcenter store. Stocks are still relatively limited, estimated to last 3-6 months.
The processor offers 6 cores / 12 threads with a frequency of 3.3 GHz and overclocking to 4.4 GHz. The L3 cache size is 96MB, the same as the older V-Cache, so gaming performance can be very good. Consumption should be a maximum of 105 W and the price tag is set to $229. The new model will go on the shelves of Microcenter stores July 7.
