Remedy released the second video in the series today, taking us behind the scenes of the development of Alan Wake 2. This time, he focused on the path that led to this game, which is coming out in a few months. The developers had ideas for a sequel for a long time, but it took a long time to finally come to the “right” concept.

“Between every game project we worked on, we created a new concept for Alan Wake 2,” says creative director Sam Lake. “I think the game we are making right now is by far the most exciting, interesting and ambitious of all these concepts, and I am very, very happy that we are working on Alan Wake 2 and not on any other. previous”.

At the same time, the video brings some interesting shots, for example, we can see the footage of a live walkthrough with Alan as such, or his model in the game. As the YT Hidden Machine channel points out in their video, the name “Door” or Mr. Door. This is a character that is already mentioned in Control and has the ability to travel between separate worlds. Maybe we will finally meet him in the second Alan, which could be very interesting. For a long time, there have been rumors among fans that Mr. Dor could be Quantum Break’s Martin Hatch (played by the recently deceased Lance Reddick) or at least some echo of him, such as Alex Casey reminiscent of Max Payne.

Speaking of Casey, we learned a little more about him, in part from an extensive Play magazine article. She will play a role not only in reality, where she forms a duet with Saga Anderson, but also in The Dark Place, where she is supposed to join Alan. Agent Robert Nightingale, whom we already know from the first part as one of the antagonists, is an important character. In the second episode, he becomes a murder victim at the very beginning, but we still hear his voice, and it was given to him by actor Doug Cockle, whom you may know as Geralt from the Witcher video game series.

Alan Wake 2 releases October 17 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
