Stephen King demanded one dollar for a quote from Alan Wake

Quote from the author of the book Stephen King fits the game perfectly, developers at the same time worth a symbolic dollar.

Game designer and writer recalled for Eurogamer magazine Sam Lake: “When I was doing the original Alan Wake, I really missed his opening quote. As far as I know, he demanded one dollar from us for the right to use it. [Bylo to] very generous.”

Along with Twin Peaks, the work of Stephen King was one of the most important inspirations for Remedy in creating Alan Wake, a writer who prescribes the story of reality. The upcoming sequel leans even more towards King’s trademark horror than the first part of the thriller.

Alan Wake 2 will bring familiar mechanics, as well as a number of new features, including a second playable character. It will come out 17 October on PC, prefix 5 And Xbox series.
