Besides, you always wanted to know what the hell he was Warhammer is and what’s in it 40 thousand? So instead of watching this video, go to wikipedia. IN Warhammer 40,000 Boltgun because you will understand almost nothing from the background of the story. Creating lore is almost a dirty word here. This was pretty disappointing for me, because in the first mission I swallowed every word of the flying skull accompanying you before I realized that it was completely unnecessary. But lovers of the universe will be happy with small references. The game is just a classic boomer-shooter from the first person, where even the enemies are not really visible through the hectoliters of blood spray. Not that there were that many to see. The game offers approx. 20 enemies approximately 10 hours gameplay that roughly corresponds to the legendary Doom 2. This comparison also applies to the approach to game maps. If you are tired of going around the whole map three times like an idiot in Doom, then get ready that things are much worse in Boltgun. The levels are often very extensive and you don’t have a map at your disposal. In search of the right key, I often became so confused in the monotony of the environment that I ended up returning to the beginning of the level. But the feeling of the game was improved by advanced weapons. The basic assault rifle and chainsaw was enough for me for about the first third of the game, because the shotgun and plasma gun simply did not have enough speed, but the machine gun heavy bolteror even a laser melta gun he was already removing heretics from the world at a reasonable pace.
So now that one boomer Graphic design. The combination of primitive models and pixelated enemies actually works well and you can easily recognize the game. To be honest, I’m not very serious about additional settings that limit the color palette or add pixelation. It’s just an additional filter. What I liked the most about the game are the story animations, which you can only find at the end of one of the three chapters. I can recommend the game to fans of the genre without hesitation. But modern players will probably suffer a little.
Verdict
For Warhammer 40k fans and old-timers, Botgun is an amazing game. It has a nice graphic style that combines pixel art and simple models. However, a small problem is the outdated gameplay. The game can be frustrating at times.
