Worth playing
I’m shocked at how good Alien: Dark Descent turned out to be. From the moment I started this, I couldn’t put it down. It is clear that the game respects the Aliens series and uses its elements in a way that benefits the gameplay. In the history of the games in the series, only three games stand out as exceptionally good, and Aliens: Dark Descent is one of them.

Aliens: Dark Descent is one of the most addictive and interesting tactical shooters I’ve ever played, and a worthy successor to James Cameron’s masterpiece.

But why tho?
Aliens: Dark Descent is an engaging real-time strategy game that’s both fun and enjoyable. It’s not a perfect game and its cycle feels a bit repetitive at times, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying every second of it.

It’s safe to say that Aliens: Dark Descent made a big impression on us. The developers of Tindalos Interactive are obviously fans of the series and you can see that they put a lot of work into this game. In addition to the exciting gameplay, we were captivated from the very beginning by the story, which is also helped by a great cast. The only disappointment for some might be the lack of multiplayer, but the price reflects that. If you’re a fan of Aliens and want the thrill of a single-player experience, this game is well worth picking up, even if you’re not usually into real-time strategy games that much.

Aliens: Dark Descent is a well-known tactical action game similar to XCOM that respects the Alien universe and is able to innovate in certain aspects. It’s a love letter to fans that might also convince fans of the genre, albeit with somewhat unfair difficulty peaks and graphics and mechanics that need to be improved.

Aliens Dark Descent is a good real-time strategy game set in an alien world, with some interesting ideas that are hard to miss, such as the possibility of eternal death. It won’t be the next XCOM, but it’s still a pretty enjoyable real-time strategy game.

Aliens: Dark Descent is a sometimes heartbreaking yet highly inspiring film adaptation and addictive real-time strategy game.

Dark Descent is a generic XCOM clone with some really fun real-time strategy moments. Horror elements are underutilized and feel completely out of place as they push you more and more into action. The music is adrenaline pumping and clearly meant to complement gunfights, soldiers yell “COMMAND GO” every time you move, and xenomorphs are easier to shoot than avoid. Throw in a bunch of performance issues and weak game mechanics and you have another disappointing entry in this world catalog of games.
