In January of this year, we saw a very successful remake of the first part of the survival horror Dead Space, which received 9 out of 10 points from us in the review (and we also gave a technical analysis, by the way). Now it seems that the revival of the EA series was not a one-time affair, as a new project was announced, albeit a significantly smaller one.
It’s called Dead Space: Deep Cover and it’s a radio game in the form of a podcast. Behind him is the company Cineverse, or rather its offshoot Bloody Disgusting, specializing in horror films. The script is written by Ben Counter, who has, for example, various works related to the Warhammer 40,000 series or the Out of Place podcast.
The story revolves around a journalist named Emmeline Ayouba, who is looking for her sister, who allegedly joined the local Unitarian church. Thus, Emmeline begins to explore the mysterious world of this church, revealing internal conflicts, strange customs, and the personal sacrifice she must make to see her sister again.
Unitology is one of the central themes of the entire Dead Space series, and already in the remake, the developers from Motive paid much more attention to it than it was in the original. Plus, she plays an even bigger role in the duo, so is Motive studio setting the stage for a Dead Space 2 remake?
We will have to wait for this. Either way, the Dead Space: Deep Cover podcast is due out in the first quarter of next year on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and other platforms.
