Developers from the Polish studio people can fly announced that they have signed a contract for a AAA game for Microsoft. They will get their hands on the brand owned by the American giant and $30 million to $50 million.
This is not the first time that the studio and the publisher have joined forces, in 2013 the European team released a series of spin-offs. Gears of War subtitled Judgment and already seven years ago they ported the first part to the PC. Even considering the portfolio of action games (Outriders, Painkiller, Bulletstorm), there is a chance that the authors will return to the popular cover shooter. The project has a code name Maverick and will be published by Xbox Game Studios.
The information comes despite the developers’ plans to independently publish games. After the collapse of their collaboration with Take-Two Interactive and the financial collapse of Outriders, which was published by Square-Enix, they decided to bet on a number of projects, most of which are not looking for a major publisher.
People Can Fly isn’t the only third-party studio currently working on the Microsoft brand. For example, the command A certain closeness develops a multiplayer mode for Halo Infinite, Crystal dynamics then they help the Initiative with the reboot Perfect darkness.
