The pirate action game Skull and Bones, which has been in development for almost 10 years, was featured at the Ubisoft Forward conference this week with a new preview, which, to the disappointment of the players, did not even give an approximate release date. However, gaming insider and journalist Tom Henderson pointed out in an article for Insider Gaming magazine that, despite initial speculation, the beta is finally only available on PC. At the moment, you can only sign up for the beta on the PC version, although in the past you could also opt for the console version. The developers themselves from Singapore-based studio Ubisoft revealed on Discord that a beta for consoles was never part of the studio’s plans, which is a rather odd claim given the previously launched registrations.

What can be said for sure at this point is that if you want to try Skull and Bones ahead of time, do so. there will be no other choice but to get to the PC version. However, it is possible that the closed beta will later be followed by an open beta, which may also be available on consoles, following the example of other games.

The full version of Skull and Bones is due out on PC, as well as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles.
