The announcement of the Invasion update for Overwatch 2 came as a pleasant surprise to most players, as it hinted at the presence of PvE content. The joy didn’t last long, however, as soon as a blog post about Overwatch 2: Invasion Bundle, which will cost $15, was posted. It must contain a skin, game currency and, above all, Permanent access to story missions. Yes, you read it right. The upcoming feature doesn’t seem like a constant factor, but will likely vary, so some PvE events will simply not be playable after a certain amount of time. So what if you don’t pay.
Player reaction to the Blizzard blog post was mostly negative. Many players were outraged that they would have to pay for PvE content, which now seems like a by-product. For example, one critic stated:It’s an insult we have to pay for PvEInterestingly, the creators themselves value content at a reasonable price – for $15 you get $29 worth of virtual items.
