The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim entered the history of video games. The 2011 role-playing game was one of the top ten best-selling games of all time. Border crossing 60 million pieces is the seventh in Skyrim, right after Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The Nintendo Kart Racing game has sold 62 million copies.
Todd Howard, head of development at Skyrim and future Starfield, boasted in an interview with IGN that even 12 years after Skyrim was released, people are still playing. This is one of the most popular role playing games.

Recall that in 2016, Skyrim overcame the mark of 30 million copies sold. In three years, it surpassed another 30 million, and also surpassed Super Mario Bros (58 million copies) and Red Dead Redemption 2 (53 million copies). Rounding out the top five are Minecraft (238 million), Grand Theft Auto V (180 million), EA’s Tetris (100 million), Wii Sports (82.9 million) and PUBG (75 million).
Everyone at Bethesda is hoping that Starfield will be their next hit. Space Adventure releases on 09/06/2023 on PC and Xbox Series X/S. It will be in Game Pass.
And what Elder Scrolls VI? Bethesda hasn’t talked about him yet. Only Bethesda confirmed this a few years ago, but was quick to point out that they were primarily focused on Starfield.
