At the very end of this year’s Summer Game Fest, we received a new demo version of the long-awaited role-playing game. While Square Enix is wrapping up Final Fantasy XVI, another team at the studio is developing Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the second installment in the upcoming seventh trilogy of remakes. The game was already announced last year, but it was at SGF that we saw the first full-fledged footage directly from the game.
While the first part took place in the city of Midgar, which was only a relatively small part of the original game, in Rebirth we will look into the wide world. Even the developers themselves say that this time we will have more freedom to explore. Cloud and his team will also be joined by new characters who will help us in battle. They are similar to the first part of the remake.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is coming to PlayStation 5 and we just found out that it’s coming early next year. It will arrive on two discs, so it looks like the title will take up quite a bit of space.
