When the fate of our planet is threatened, the Transformers must once again come to its aid. And not only them. One of today’s most popular action movies is back in theaters, and with it a new kind of alien transformation.
It’s not just Autobots and Decepticons hiding among us. In the depths of the Amazonian rainforests, for thousands of years, the Maximal species has been quietly surviving, choosing a representative of the animal kingdom as its ground cover. Unfortunately, a threat has appeared in our solar system that initially expelled them from their homeland – Unicron, a ruthless devourer of all life. The history of the new Transformers takes place in the nineties, at a time when Optimus Prime was not yet a true leader, hardened by numerous life-and-death battles. To face an existential threat alongside the Maximals, he will first have to tame his ego and respect the leader of the “animal bots”, Optimus Primal. Also, the Transformers will have to deal with having their existence discovered by two mere mortals, Noah and Elena, both mad enough to help them take on a much stronger enemy, even if they don’t have the stats to do so. After all, this is their planet.
Although the new Transformers no longer has its mastermind, action-packed master Michael Bay, according to producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, his work will “feel” from this film. “When we filmed the previous part of the Transformers saga, Bumblebee, we focused on depicting the emotion between human and robot. We succeeded, although some fans complained that the film lacked action. Monster Awaken should include both the human dimension of Bumblebee and the lavish action we’re used to from Bay’s films.” promises di Bonaventura.
