Last year, Microsoft and Bethesda only showed games that were due out within 12 months. Though games like Redfall, Starfield and Forza Motorsport ended up being delayed. This year, the American company is ditching that rule and will be showing much more on Sunday nights.
This was stated by vice president of marketing Xbox Aaron Greenberg. they won’t show full CGI trailers. Microsoft has previously been criticized for polished cinematography, stating that CG trailers create too much expectation and do not capture the shape of the game. Sony has also been criticized for having too many CGI trailers since the recent PlayStation Showcase.
For this year Presentation of games for Xbox at least in terms of third party games (directly from Microsoft) we can see pure gameplay footage, game engine footage and game footage with some cutscenes. Everything will be labeled correctly so we know what we’re watching.
