Like its predecessors, Total War: Pharaoh has a sandbox-based setting where you take on one of several creators and fight for survival in ancient Egypt. The world is about to collapse, and it’s up to you how you handle the situation. You will be able to see the fall of civilization live. However, the end never means a complete end, but a restart. The new theme won’t be the only novelty that Total War: Pharaoh will bring.
As with Total War Saga: Troy, players can look forward to a more challenging terrain format. There are no sandstorms, mud slowing down the progress and a number of other factors that will have to be taken into account. Armies, for example, must be prepared for heat, which negatively affects combatants. Among other things, the functioning of the fire should also be improved, which should spread more actively and, thus, really become one of the means that determine the course of the battle. However, according to the creators, it cannot be relied upon, because once you release it, it may very well happen that it gets into your own people.
The developers claim that historical accuracy is important to them. Historical records appear to have been used in the creation of cities and units. Players can also look forward to highly complex factions with unique characters, units, and playstyles. To some extent, it looks like Creative Assembly Sofia, behind Total War Saga: Troy, is working on it to some extent. The exact release date of Total War: Pharaoh is still unknown, the game should appear on PC in October, and the creators themselves say that it will be a game worth pre-ordering.
