Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty may release in August

Already on June 8 in the evening on Summer Games Festival We’ll see big Phantom Liberty story expansion for Cyberpunk 2077which will be the first and at the same time the last expansion of this cyberpunk RPG adventure from the creators of The Witcher trilogy.

The release date will also likely be announced on the show. Previously, there were speculations about the release in June, or early July. Tyler McVicker, who made his name primarily as a Valve insider, thinks he’ll show up sometime in August. He wasn’t specific, but he already got word from CD Projekt RED: he announced a Phantom Liberty demo at The Game Awards 2022.

In terms of budget, Phantom Liberty is the biggest expansion the Polish studio has worked on. Thus, it surpasses even the famous addition “Wine and Blood” to the game “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt”. By the way, this could be considered a separate game. The main story was 15 hours long, with additional missions after that 28 hours, and it took about 40 hours to complete the whole story. No wonder players have high hopes for the Phantom Liberty as well.

We saw the teaser trailer last August at The Game Awards 2022. It showed off the new locations and revealed that a well-known actor had been cast to play FIA agent Solomon Reed. Idris Elba.

Phantom Liberty is in development for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S only. CD Projekt RED is already skipping PS4 and Xbox One.
