Anthem is one of those games that has long served as a demonstration that a project with great potential can be a huge disaster. And now we have a reason why the beginning of this work failed. According to one of the developers
Jan Satterdalen The development of this project was supposed to take only 15 months, which is very interesting, given that the production of the game is often stretched over several years. However, the brevity of the development was not the only thing the creator talked about. Apparently, the team was aware enough of the imperfect state of their creation and yet released it into the world. However, he believes that if the studio manages to make a sequel, it will be “wonderful”.
According to Saterdalen, if you’re wondering how it could have happened that development took only 15 months, it must be because many of the team members worked 90-hour weeks. He also sincerely believed that Anthem could be made better, but in the end, a complete debugging did not happen, because the workforce was needed elsewhere.
I have learned a lot in this project. We knew it wasn’t ready because this game was created in just 15 months. Which is unheard of for a game of this magnitude. Anthem 2 would be great! https://t.co/HHK29rpVbr pic.twitter.com/JJkpUf9DqX
