The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake is one of those damned Ubisoft games where first they write about delays, and then almost nothing for a change. Along with that, we could create, for example, Skull and Bones or Beyond Good & Evil 2. The Prince of Persia remake was originally in an advanced stage of development, but after several delays last May, we learned that the game was from Ubisoft Studios Pune and Mumbai will go to the team from Montreal, who also worked on the original Sands of Time. It’s been relatively quiet since then, but now Ubisoft has released an interview with producer Jean-Francois Naud and game director Michael McIntyre.
It talked about a few things, but probably the most important information is that the project is in the concept stage, in other words, development has restarted. So the game is still very far away, and the developers say in advance that we will not see it at the Ubisoft Forward presentation on June 12, or at any other event this year. As for the game itself, the authors repeat that this is a full-fledged remake, and not just a remaster. The story will remain, but the movement and combat system, for example, will be upgraded. If you are interested in the details, I recommend reading the interview itself, it is quite voluminous.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake won’t be featured at the upcoming Ubisoft Forward conference, but fear not: the game is quite alive.
