Sony has revealed details about the PC versions of its games. This segment in the PlayStation is growing from year to year. It was $35 million in fiscal 2020, $80 million a year later, and most recently $250 million. Sony estimates that PC gaming revenue will reach $450 million by fiscal year 2023.
Sony announces that PlayStation has been named one of the top 20 PC game publishers in fiscal year 2022 by the top PC retailer. Sony’s own games are expected to account for up to 20% of PC sales in fiscal year 2023.

The Last of Us Part 1, which was released on PC on March 28, 2023, sold 368,000 copies and generated $15.5 million in revenue. It can be assumed that if the PC port of Joel and Ellie’s post-apocalyptic adventure had not come out in bad shape, sales would have been even better.
It remains true that Sony intends to increase the number of exclusives for the PlayStation 5 and A PC version will be offered in two to three years. The company wants to use the PC version as an additional income and to expand the player base. So far, apparently successful.
