Although E3 will not take place this year, there will definitely not be a shortage of conferences on the traditional June date. One of the biggest, of course, will be the Summer Game Fest, which has been held with us every year since 2020. Its creator and moderator Geoff Keighley, who is also in charge of The Game Awards and Opening Night Live at Gamescom, gave an interview to the Epic Games Store that gave us some new information about this year’s show.
We have to look forward to gaming news, updates to games already presented, but of course brand new announcements as well. Kaylee elaborates that he has 3 or 4 big games up his sleeve that will be featured at SGF. The show will run for approximately 2 hours and apparently, in addition to various shorter trailers, we’ll also be seeing some longer segments, so Kaley is at least claiming in an interview that an event like Summer Game Fest has place for such things, unlike The Rewards for the game. He also adds that for the first time, the show will be live in front of an audience, namely at the YouTube Theater near Los Angeles.
Kaylie says this is not a “replacement” for E3, but an event of a slightly different nature. Unlike the famous fair, it will actually only be a show and there will be no demos available on the site. But I must add that, like last year, there will be a Summer Game Fest Play Days event in parallel, where demos will be played, but only for a handful of invitees, and not for the public.
