Sega hints at $70 price increase for games

Game prices are slowly rising. The trend started back in 2020 when Take-Two charged a steep $70 for NBA 2K21. In recent years, most large companies have jumped on this bandwagon. Companies have different reasons for raising prices. Some present it as something necessary to maintain quality, while others argue that it is necessary to grow due to inflation and other factors. However, at least the latest exclusivity of the Microsoft Redfall event shows that even a price increase may not affect the final quality of the project.

Currently, there are only two big giants in the gaming scene that it doesn’t make sense to jump on this bandwagon just yet. Ubisoft would like to raise $70 for the still-delayed Skull & Bones pirate event. Sega has not yet specified which games may be affected by the price change. However, according to the information provided by the VGC server, he is going to take this step: “We would like to change the prices of books that we believe are commensurate with price increases while monitoring market conditions. So there is a good chance that you will have to pay extra for the next part of the Sonic series.
