Bad graphics and technical side, only two types of races and strange car sounds. These were my main complaints about the off-road simulator Overpass. I liked the physics, the complexity of the steep and rocky tracks, the originality and the split screen. Three years later, Nacon announces the second part, in which beckons to greater authenticity and a greater challenge.

The development is no longer the Zordix Racing studio, but the authors of Hunt Simulator 2, Truck Racing and various children’s titles from the studio. Neopic. They must take advantage of modern Unreal Engine 5 and player feedback on the first volume.

“Players will race on extreme tracks behind the wheel of powerful and officially licensed ATVs and UTVs” says in a press release. There are 37 cars in 3 different categories, 5 environments, 31 tracks and multiple racing modes including a much deeper career.

“We are hard at work on the terrain physics, vehicle behavior and authentic feel of this high-tech sport.” said Peter Vermeulen, managing director of Neopica.

In the first trailer, we see SSVs from companies like Polaris and Yamaha. There seems to be more emphasis on door-to-door racing, like in MX vs ATV Legends for example. The video ends up looking like extreme truckreminiscent of the events of Pathfinder in DiRT 5 and the real events of King of the Hammers.

Overpass 2 will release on October 19 this year for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
