Today’s news is unfortunately sad. Just because a game is winning the hearts of many fans and receiving applause from all quarters doesn’t mean it has to wait for a sequel. And this, unfortunately, is Pentimento.
One of the main developers, Josh Sawyer, in a personal account on Tumblr answered the question whether the second part is planned. The question was based on a title of sorts Palimpsestwhich sparked discussion unless it’s a planned sequel.
Josh quickly cleared up this misunderstanding. Palimpsest was only the first working title for Penmentent. Microsoft feared that the name would not be kept secret for long, so the project was renamed to the name it has today. However from the very beginning of development, the game was planned as a standalone game and Josh is pleased with the stage at which the game ended. However, he hopes it will inspire many more stories in the future.
Peniment is very cute story adventure gamewho won over many game lovers with his style and she has received more than one nomination for her short story. There is nothing to be surprised here, because it is supported by veterans of the RPG genre from Obsidian Entertainment.
