It’s here! long awaited Playstation showcase officially announced! Sony will reveal upcoming PS5 and PS VR2 titles on Wednesday 24/05 this year at 10 pm ET.
“The presentation will last just over an hour and will focus on PS5 and PS VR2 games being developed by leading studios from around the world.” says Sony.
We can expect to see some new creations from PlayStation Studios, as well as exciting titles from third-party partners and indie developers.
Sony is also looking for a new brand.
You noticed? Sony didn’t mention PS4so it looks like with the PS5 selling around 40 million units, the previous generation no longer counts.
Various insiders and journalists mentioned before the official PlayStation Showcase announcement that this presentation should be the beginning of the second stage of the life of the PlayStation 5 console. Sony has kept this year’s information under wraps so far and has only announced Spiderman 2 autumn.
So what will we see at the PS Showcase straight from PlayStation Studios? I think it’s a certainty independent multiplayer action in the world of The Last of Us from Naughty Dog. The rest is rather vague, but the new brand could very well be a project from Bend, it should include multiplayer and build on Days Gone’s open world systems.
In the case of partners, everything is easier. Here we write Final Fantasy XVI, Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth, Silent Hill 2 Remake, Stellar Blade, Baldur’s Gate III, Death Stranding 2, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake and, last but not least, Rise of the Ronin.
The hardware side has been discussing the new model for a long time. PS5 with removable drive And portable with work symbol Q Lightwhich is supposedly designed for streaming games from the cloud.
Other old computer games are also considered. Sucker Punch’s long-awaited Ghost of Tsushima samurai action movie may finally be coming to join Horizon Zero Dawn, Marvel’s Spider-Man, The Last of Us Part 1, Days Gone, and more Sony titles on PC. Let’s hope that this time the port is optimized.
