If your display device supports 120Hz, the frame rate will even be unlocked, but you can only expect a slight increase in performance to around 60-70 fps, but even this mode can be recommended if your device supports VRR. In terms of image quality, the resolution is reduced (approximately 1080p), but the density of vegetation and its draw distance are reduced. I also encountered a moment where a plant appeared right in front of me, which was a little distracting. However, perhaps the biggest disadvantage is the rather pronounced flicker, which again can be seen, especially on vegetation.
60 FPS Requiem on PS5 holds well, only in the first location I noticed frame unevenness, but in other parts it was no longer a problem, so I can’t judge yet. We praised the dark adventure game A Plague Tale: Requiem in many ways, as it received a beautiful 9 out of 10 from us in our review. However, we had one big caveat, namely optimization (see technical analysis ). The game ran at 30fps when it released on consoles, or 40 if you have a 120Hz display. But now, more than six months after the release, everything has changed.
Developers from the French studio Asobo are in a hurry they announcedthat a performance mode targeting 60fps has been added to the game on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X (not Series S) consoles. Unfortunately, we do not yet know how stable the frame rate is, and at what resolution the game works in this mode, but we will, of course, add information to the article gradually.
Computer gamers are not left out. New graphics settings have been added to the PC version that can save you CPU power. In particular, you can set the number and refresh rate of moving rats, and the refresh rate can also be set for characters. It’s a pretty demanding game in terms of CPU, so if you’re on a weaker machine, it’s definitely worth taking a look at the new options.
