Rumors about a remake of the third part of Metal Gear Solid have been around for a very long time, but there has been no official announcement from Konami so far. Now, two insiders agree that the show is just around the corner.
Eat Corden Windows Central and XboxEra founder Nick ‘Shpeshal_Nick’ Baker agree that Konami is preparing a big announcement in partnership with Sony. According to them, the presentation of the remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 will be part of the upcoming PlayStation Showcase.to be held in the coming weeks; end of May or beginning of June.
According to both insiders, Sony has struck a deal with Konami that includes exclusivity for Remake of Silent Hill 2, a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 and a new Castlevania. The first game has already been announced for PS5 and PC only. However, at this time, Corden is not sure if the MGS 3 remake and Castlevania have the same exclusivity. The game has full exclusivity, i.e. release only on PlayStation 5.
Earlier it was reported that Studio Virtuos may be doing a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. On LinkedIn, their former employee stated that from October 2018 to June 2019, he was involved in an unannounced remake of an AAA adventure game as a lead programmer. VGC magazine also previously wrote about Virtuos in connection with MGS 3.
