Hogwarts Legacy releases today on other platforms

The popular action-RPG Hogwarts Legacy, which was released on the current generation of consoles and PC in early February, received today release of versions for the latest generation of consoles in the form of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Enough has already been written about the qualities and features of the game, so the main question mark was about optimization, which, even with the porting of these versions, undoubtedly represented a challenge for the developers. Thanks to the video from the ElAnalistaDeBits channel, below you can see how the result turned out.

In particular, a breakdown is available versions for base PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro. Both versions are also compared to the PS5 version in terms of graphics. Players on the base PlayStation 4 can enjoy the game in 900p resolution combined with 30 frames per second. But they can also choose the unlocked frame rate mode, which varies the frame rate between 30-50 frames per second.

The PlayStation 4 Pro offers 1080p resolution. Even so, you can choose between playing at 30 fps limit or unlocked frame rate, in which the number of frames varies from 30 to 60 frames per second. For both consoles, at least in the tested playthroughs, there are no dips below 30 fps, which can be regarded as a pleasant surprise.

Relatively stable frame rate as expected redeemed for knowledge at a lower level of detail, worse render distance, removal of some objects and lower resolution, which is clearly visible when compared with the PS5 version. However, due to the large performance difference between these devices, this is unavoidable. Gamers on the latest generation of consoles, as usual, must also reckon with significantly longer loading.

Despite the trade-offs mentioned above, all indications are that even older console owners should enjoy the game without too much trouble. Let’s see how the developers will cope with the future. Nintendo Switch versiondue out July 25th.

In addition to the ElAnalistaDeBits video, you can also check out gameplay footage from the GameRiot channel showing the PS4 version in action.
