“Our philosophy is that it’s okay to make mistakes, but you need to make mistakes quickly and on time,” he says. He acknowledges that the development of Survivor was helped by experience with the predecessor Fallen Order. But the most important thing, according to him, was to know when to intervene and tame the ambitions of the team – remove, for example, a game element or mechanics.

The home office also played a role, which Respawn got used to very quickly. While some companies are returning to standard work solutions after the coronavirus pandemic subsides, Star Wars Jedi developers can still work from home today. According to Asmussen, “there was a course correction” when studios were forced to implement home offices.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a more ambitious sequel to 2019’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and follows the further adventures of Jedi Cal Kestis. Releases today April 28 at PC, Xbox series And prefix 5.
