In addition to the old and well-known heroes to all veterans, in the spectrum of Star Wars: The Deckbuilding Game cards there are also character cards that are probably not familiar to people trained on the original movie series and not watching other films. At the beginning of each turn, you get resources for the cards in your fleet, and even if they cost, the resources go to buy other cards, but don’t count on the fact that the purchased item will immediately fall into your hands. You must shuffle it into the discard pile so you don’t get to it until the next shuffle.
During your turn, you have the option to draw cards, use character abilities, benefit from resources, or plan an attack. However, once the turn is over, you are left with just the drawn ships and planets. In the same way, you discard units and dispose of the resources that you throw into the main supply. You then draw five cards from the deck or shuffle the discard pile to create a new resource.
When it comes to attacking, you must choose whether to attack units or enemy worlds, which are actually the main target. However, before you attack them, you must first eliminate the ships with a considerable number of lives, so it is impossible to get to them right away. Also, once one of them is destroyed, it’s the other’s turn until the third hit, when the opponent has nowhere to hide, effectively ending the game.

I didn’t expect much from Star Wars: The Deckbuilding Game, the thematically I found the game interesting, but I was a little confused by the fact that it was only for two players. In the end, however, I was pleasantly surprised with a clear design, as well as a power system based on the principle of cards, which in fact pull the scales to one side, thereby strengthening their side in the final.
The strong point of this set is undoubtedly the legendary characters and iconic characters of the Star Wars series. Perhaps I could imagine the absence of the group from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, but the presence of these heroes is not an obvious problem. I really enjoy the fights and especially the eliminations associated with obtaining raw materials. Star Wars: The Deckbuilding Game is definitely worth checking out for those looking for a decent deck.
