This game has everything to be the best in its genre thanks to its excellent story, graphics and impressive details. But this is somewhat more demanding on the PC. The co-op mode is one of the best features, although the lack of cross-play takes away from the real fun. Killing zombies isn’t hard until you hit the streets of Hell-A and want to make it out alive.

Dead Island 2 doesn’t revolutionize this saga or survival games, but it does offer the bare essentials. Dambuster Studios offers zombie survival fans a bloody and sunny journey into the heart of the red City of Angels. The mutilations of the emaciated have never been so cruel, and the enjoyment of them so visceral. This FPS is far from perfect and suffers from a certain repetitiveness that it tries to erase with undeniable generosity. The Dead Island series is indeed back.

The technical shortcomings of the new feature are hard to miss, but the game is made with such love that if you get rid of these shortcomings, you will be very pleasantly surprised at what lies under the surface.

Dead Island 2 is exactly what we were promised. That said, Dambuster should iron out a few shortcomings in the coming weeks, but if you’re hoping for mindless chaos and exceptional carnage fun that is HELL-A, you’ll get it to the fullest here.

Dead Island 2 is an exciting and much improved journey through the fashionable parts of Los Angeles compared to the previous part of the series.

Dead Island 2 is a refreshing, mindless, and lovingly crafted game that doesn’t let its repetitive quest design and disappointing ending stop it from being super fun.

For more than a decade in developer hell, Dead Island 2 has done well, with crazy atmosphere and characters, fun combat, and acceptable quest quality. However, all of these qualities gradually deteriorate as the campaign progresses, turning the game into nothing more than a passable experience that may not be worth the full price for those looking for something more exciting.

You will have a lot of fun killing zombies on the streets and beaches of HELL-A, but if you don’t get infected from the first bite, you may find, like the main character, that your experience gets even stronger as you play.

We got that cover

It’s not necessarily a failure of Deep Silver and Dambuster Studios, but Dead Island 2 just doesn’t feel like a game worth a decade of waiting. It retains all the elements that made the first game popular and expands on some of them in a fun and interesting way, but it does too little to be different from previous games.

PC gamer

Dead Island 2 is frustrating with boring design choices, repetitive combat and a painfully weak story, the only salvation being a great PC game.
