Only a few days have passed since the release of the new game Sherlock Holmes The Awakened (our review here) from the Ukrainian studio Frogwares. But once they’ve finished working on the title, they’re already thinking about the next project. On Twitter the developers said that one of the options for the new game is Survival Horror. And since they want to ask the fans if they like this idea, they created a questionnaire for this purpose.
In it, the creators ask, for example, about the importance of various mechanics, but first of all they hinted at a few things. First, it should be a semi-open world game, with classic loading screens between maps, and aside from the horror aspects, the game could still have the investigation mechanic so typical of Frogwares. We also learned that the authors are likely preparing a Kickstarter campaign again, and this time it could be an early access title.
At the same time, the developers are figuring out if players are interested in true survival horror or more of an action-packed concept. As well as possible settings, namely psychological horror, gothic horror, sci-fi horror, post-apocalyptic horror and, last but not least, Lovecraftian horror, with which the developers already have experience from The Sinking City or the aforementioned Sherlock Holmes The Awakened.
