Sherlock Holmes The Awakened is a rewarding detective experience with familiar gameplay where you play as Sherlock and Watson as they hunt down the Cthulhu phenomenon while fighting to keep their sanity. Although the new game is smaller in scope than the previous one and lacks side quests, it is still a fun and beautiful game.

Sherlock Holmes The Awakened is a surprisingly creative way to remake a game. Taking a piece of the past and making a brick of the future out of it is a truly impressive and exciting story that can now be experienced even more intensely.

Even if we were a bit disappointed with Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened, we would still be impressed with it given the difficulties Frogwares had during its development. The fact that this is actually a very good game on its own speaks to the talent hidden in this little Ukrainian developer. This is truly a true display of passion, perseverance and genuine talent. There really aren’t any better detective games, especially if you like a bit of the occult.

Sherlock Holmes The Awakened blends the two worlds beautifully and is a great investigative game where you have to do your own research without letting you escape. For your own sake, grab this game if you’re even slightly interested. You won’t regret it.

Sherlock Holmes The Awakened combines horror and Holmes to create a great adventure game. But don’t expect him to hold your hand.¨

It’s entirely possible that modern Sherlock fans will be quite disappointed with The Awakened, as the game falls short of The Sinking City or Chapter One. However, I did enjoy a few hours of evening strolling through vintage locations, and this is a popcorn game that doesn’t get the credit it deserves among the bigger, more bombastic games that require endless hours spent in their huge open worlds.

Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened has some interesting gameplay ideas and a solid setting, but feels a bit disappointing.
