In August last year, developers from Hangar 13 studio officially confirmed the development of a new part of the Mafia series. According to earlier, yet unconfirmed information, we will have the fourth part of the series taken to Sicily at the turn of the 19th and 20th centurieswhere we trace the rise of Don Salieri.
Speculation about the future of the series has stirred over time new open position at Hangar 13 studiowho is currently looking for an experienced executive percentage. According to the description on LinkedIn, the person in this position should be responsible for the development of a key series in this development division, which has branches in Brighton, Novato, Brno and Prague. The main goal is to launch a new big title, release subsequent additional content and plan for the future of the brand.
Although the job description does not mention which series it is, it is probably just about the mafia, which the studio is reportedly focusing on after canceling other projects. In addition to the new Mafia, Hangar 13 should also be working on a new installment in the Top Spin tennis series, but we can describe it more as a side project. However, at the moment it is not entirely clear whether the above position refers to the fourth Mafia currently in development, which is presumably in pre-production.
Some foreign magazines play with the idea that this this could be the beginning of preparations for the fifth part, which would come out shortly after the fourth due to this. Either way, the data so far indicates that Hangar 13 and publisher 2K Games themselves have big plans for the Mafia series, which could bring several new titles for the foreseeable future.
