American McGee broke and after more than ten years surrenders create a new part of the horror action with Alice in Wonderland. Electronic Arts threw a pitchfork on his dream. The company that owns the rights to Alenka did not want Alice: Vault finance, nor was she interested in licensing the brand.
McGee, with fan funding (more than 3,000 people backed the project on Patreon), prepared the so-called project bible, a several hundred page document with a script, gameplay ideas, and many concepts showing how the game could look. McGee’s goal was to convince EA to fund the project. The second option is to get a license from the publisher and look for another partner.
Alice: The asylum has come to an end
After weeks of review, EA came back with a response about funding and/or licensing for Alice: Asylum – Alice did a good job, but the dream was over. https://t.co/hyprIq9MpE#game development #alisasilum pic.twitter.com/sIE3bKbaVY

Electronic Arts management had to reject development funding due to internal analysis of intellectual property, market conditions, and the details of the development proposal. The company did not want to issue a license because Alenka is an important part of the entire EA game catalog..
McGee represented Alice: Asylum as the de facto third installment, having directed both previous Alice games: American McGee’s Alice and Alice Madness Returns. Following the latest decision, EA stated that exhausted all options for the implementation of the third Alice and stops working with both Alice: Asylum and game development in general. If EA ever changes its mind in the future and decides to create a new Alice, she will want nothing to do with this project.
So American McGee gives up everything. But let’s see how the designer imagined the third non-standard adventure of Alice in Wonderland. It should have been like the previous games an adventure full of gore, terrifying ghosts and disturbing scenes that will keep players awake.
In the script, which McGee even provided to fans, one could find disturbing scenes with elements of horror, violence, death, mental health, etc. In a word, nothing for the faint of heart.
The first volume of Alice McGee in Wonderland, known as American Alice McGee, was published in 2000 and is now a well-known classic. The second part, Alice: Madness Returns, hit the scene in 2011 and it’s not too bad either.
Unfortunately, we will not see the third part. At least the art
