Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will compile shaders in the menu

One of the main problems with PC versions of the latest games is undoubtedly stuttering. This can be caused by various factors, but one of the most common is shader compilation, which is the cause of annoying crashes, especially in games that use the Unreal Engine. One of these is the upcoming Star Wars title Jedi: Survivor, which has had quite a few concerns. The first installment, subtitled Fallen Order, didn’t work perfectly on PC, and stuttering was a relatively big problem.

Luckily, ResetEry user Theswweet, who has already played the game and has written a preview for RPG Site magazine, has some good news. He confirmed that Survivor precompiles shaders already in the menu, so the game should avoid this type of crash. Of course, this does not mean that another kind of stuttering cannot occur with it. At the same time, it is worth adding that the shaders will be compiled after each update of the video card driver. Either way, it’s a nice feature that allows for a more enjoyable gaming experience and is gradually becoming a PC standard.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor releases April 28th. Coming to PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
