The new version of the DualSense controller could change the temperature

Paradoxically, when the PlayStation 5 came out, there was even more talk about the new DualSense controller than about the device itself. It comes with technologies like adaptive triggers and haptic feedback that deepen the gaming experience. And apparently Sony has no plans to stop introducing new technologies, at least this is indicated by a new patent, which was one of the first reported by Gameranx magazine, for example.

It describes the creation of a sensor that can change the temperature of the controller depending on the data it receives. Basically, the DualSense can be colder when you are in an icy area and warmer if you are in a tropical area, for example. This is definitely an interesting idea, on the other hand, there are opinions that such a technology will lead to a relatively significant reduction in battery life, which is not great.

Finally, it should be added that this is “only” a patent and far from the first that Sony has filed in connection with the PS5. So it’s doubtful that the Temperature Variable DualSense will ever hit the market.
