In recent years, we have been served LEGO games from various comics or fantasy worlds. However, there will also be races this year. 2K and Visual Concepts officially announced the title they’ve been mulling over for days on Thursday. Lego 2K Drive.

There is also a trailer and release date: May 19, 2023.

This is an arcade racing game that includes both a separate open-world story campaign and multiplayer – here you can play together on a split screen or online for up to six players. The story is quite simple: defeat other racers and get a shiny cup. In addition, it will be possible to perform various side activities or tasks.

We have already tested the title in the editorialso you can expect first impressions soon. But we’re going to show right now that LEGO 2K Drive puts a lot of emphasis on creativity, and in addition to racing, you can also build a car from parts. At the same time, he tries not to be too restrictive even in the races themselves, so for example, it rewards when you crash into trees or obstacles (but not people or passers-by). You don’t even have to stick to the roads – if you happen to drive on water, your car turns into a boat.

While racing, you can hurt your opponents by launching webs or rockets, and the title should appeal to adults and kids alike. You probably immediately think of the Mario Kart series.

Visual Concepts is known for its sports games, most recently the NBA and WWE series. It hasn’t even been ten years since they made a video game that didn’t feature basketball or wrestling, so it’s entirely possible that this will be a refreshing change for the developer. The game will be released on PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), Nintendo Switch, and past and current generations of PlayStation and Xbox consoles. On the current standard version it will cost $70, otherwise it will be ten dollars cheaper.
