Representatives of CD Projekt announced in the next monthly report for investors that the development of one of the upcoming games in the Witcher universe has resumed. In particular, talking about title labeled Project Sirius, which was developed by The Molasses Flood studio. It was supposed to be a game that combined campaign and multiplayer. We talked mainly about the existence of cooperation.
The decision to stop development should be based on an internal assessment of the current results and commercial potential of the project. At the moment there are disputes about a new form of the game. Thus, a complete abolition would not have to occur. Rather, according to the company, it looks like this back to the imaginary drawing board. At the very least, the financial damage has already been done, as the game has taken less than $10 million to develop in the last 14 months alone.
However, it should be remembered that CD Projekt and related studios are currently developing a number of other games, led by the new Witcher trilogy, the sequel to Cyberpunk. That’s not all Phantom Liberty expansion release for the aforementioned Cyberpunk 2077.
