Despite the huge popularity of the HBO series it’s unlikely to be another project from naughty dog was a continuation of the game series Last of us.
In an interview with Kinda Funny, the showrunner and co-writer of The Last Of Us admitted. Neil Druckmannthat there was buzz around a potential third part of The Last of Us, but at the same time he said that Naughty Dog next game already selected.
“At the end of each project, we purposefully explore several other projects,” Druckmann spoke about Naughty Dog’s creative process, explaining that the successful studio is lucky to be able to choose projects based on passion. “Some of them could be a sequel or an entirely new story. And then we ask ourselves: “Where do our passions lead?‘.’
“I know our fans really want The Last of Us Part III, we hear about it all the time,” he continued. “However, all I can say is that we are working on another project, the decision has already been made. I can’t say what it is, but we have already gone through the selection process.”
Druckmann further clarifies that the as-yet-unnamed multiplayer game The Last of Us “our next big title” so the project, which he could not describe, probably the next big titlewhich awaits us in the future.
In past, Druckmann he also didn’t want to mess with The Last of Us ever getting a third installment. In 2021, he stated that with collaborator Hallie Gross charted a potential third volumebut has since confirmed that it will only be implemented if Naughty Dog feels it’s an interesting story to work with.
IT WOULD TAKE SEVERAL ONE EPISODE TO COVER THE LAST OF US: PART II
HBO adaptation of The Last of Us just finished its first season finale. It was met with a warm reception, and due to the large number of viewers, the second season was soon greenlit. But it looks like this Part II will require more than one episode.
Since the first season pretty much covered the entire story of the first game, it is expected that the second series will be a continuation of the plot of the game.
In an interview with GQ magazine, we learned from Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin that the second series cannot cover the events of the second part. Druckmann clarifies and also looks forward to continuing, saying:
“Some of the things I’m looking forward to are the changes we talked about earlier, which is that the story will come alive again in the next version. I think it’s exciting because it really draws on the feelings that you have in the game in a new way.”
Although so Series 3 has yet to be officially confirmedseems to be counting on it to some extent. Considering how successful the first series was, it’s no surprise that it stayed that way. Second part of the video game there will probably be a little more space, because there will be at least twice as many episodes.

THE LAST OF US TO BREAK THE DRAGON STAFF IN THE VIEWERS
First six episodes of an HBO drama there were more viewers than the Game of Thrones prequel. Sunday’s finale scored the highest number of viewers on the night of the premiere.
Sunday Finals Average Views 8.2 million viewers across all HBO platforms. This is the largest number of viewers at the premiere of a nine-episode series. According to HBO, the first six episodes of The Last of Us since 1/15 premiered were average audience 30.4 million viewersbeing the debut episode approaching 40 million viewers.
If the figure of 30.4 million viewers continues, this will mean that The Last of Us is more than Dragon clanwhich averaged 29 million viewers across all platforms in late summer and fall 2022.
