Hogwarts Legacy has become the best-selling game of the last six years

Despite some critical opinions, Hogwarts Legacy is a blockbuster whose success can hardly be discussed. In just three weeks of sales, according to Game Industry, the game has become the fifth best-selling game in the past twelve months behind titans such as FIFA 23, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Grand Theft Auto 5 or Elden Ring. The trip to Hogwarts dominates not only the date of the last weeks, but also the overall statistics of the European rankings that started six years ago, where he currently occupies sixth place, which is not bad for a newcomer.

As for the launch itself, in this respect Hogwarts Legacy surpassed, for example, Red Dead Redemption 2 or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Despite the impressive success of this work, the demand for games fell by 10%, which is justified by the lack of really interesting titles. However, some parts of consoles have done well. PS5 sales were up five times, and Xbox Series X/S were pretty good too, with a nice 13% increase. On the other hand, the Nintendo Switch, not interested in the European market, was doing poorly, so its sales fell by 28%.
