Developers at Harebrained Schemes are first and foremost experts in turn-based combat games, behind the latest installments in the Shadowrun video game series inspired by the board of the same name. But this time they left the sci-fi setting and went in a different direction.

A new game with very long titles “League of Lanterns” and “Tower at World’s End” was announced at today’s presentation by the Swedish company Paradox Interactive, which publishes the title. We’ll take a look at an alternate 1930s where a sect called the Exiled Court rules the world. Until now, the heroes of the League of Lamplighters fought against him, but as the developers say in the description: The best of the best are gone, now it’s up to the best of the worst. And we will take care of them.

We will be able to control a wide variety of characters with different abilities, which we will then use in turn-based battles. Compared to previous games from Harebrained, what’s new is the real-time pre-combat part, where you can explore the environment or eliminate some enemies beforehand.

Lamplighters League will release later this year on PC and Xbox Series X|S. The game will be available on Game Pass on the day of release. In the meantime, you can add it to your wishlist on Steam.
