Blumhouse Productions, the studio best known for its horror films, is also looking into video games. Founded over twenty years ago, the company typically produces films at lower cost but high profit margins. An example is the horror film Paranormal Activity, which cost about $15,000 in its first version but became a hit and ended up grossing nearly $200 million.
The studio is proud of the films The Purge, Astral and most recently M3gan. He also has films from award-winning directors M. Night Shyamalan’s Split, Jordan Peel’s Getaway and Spike Lee’s Black Klansman.

Under the banner of Blumhouse Games, it now wants to focus on publishing indie horror games for computers, consoles and mobile phones. Independent developers should participate in them. The process will be similar to the studio’s films: low budgets, a commitment to originality and innovation.
Blumhouse Games will be led by Zach Wood, producer of Hohokum or The Unfinished Swan, and Don Sehler, who has been with PlayStation for nearly a decade.
“With their experience, sense and knowledge of the gaming market, Zak and Don are the ideal leaders to bring Blumhouse’s strengths to gaming,” said company director Abhijay Prakash. The company, which has more than 150 films and series to its credit, has long been looking for opportunities in the field of “interactive media”, he said. But now it is at the beginning and nothing is known about upcoming titles.
