Unfortunately, we didn’t learn anything new. The short teaser trailer certainly doesn’t answer the poignant questions raised by last summer’s two-minute teaser trailer.
In today’s video, we see the main character, and in the background we hear a philosophical question about mistakes. In other words, we’ll face the consequences of our choices. This is a reference to the main character Jan Dolsky. He faces circumstances that lead him to crossroads of life. Shipwrecked on a distant planet, where he is stuck and left alone, he finds himself in a difficult life situation.
His only hope for survival is to create alternate versions of himself.. However, each alter’s personality is shaped by Yang’s different life paths. He does not fully understand the importance of this decision.

“Look into yourself, into your past and realize that you are who you are, as the sum of these many decisions. And when you do that, the key question is: WHAT IF…?” says an earlier press release.
“What if I change my life? What if I go the other way? Who would I be? What would I say to my other self? What could I learn if I talked to my changed self? What if I speak to many of my selves at the same time?! What if…?”
The Alters has no set release date. The project has been in development for over three years. Unreal Engine 5 and has only been confirmed for PC so far.
