“It was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen,” says the mustachioed man at the beginning of the new trailer. Taron Egerton. It’s not about Mona Lisa or some distant galaxy, it’s about Tetris. A well-known game with falling dice, which must match perfectly with each other. Upcoming feature film, unsurprisingly titled tetris.
streaming service Apple TV+ released a trailer that takes us to the Soviet Union in the 1980s. The protagonist is businessman Henk Rogers, played by actor Taron Egerton, best known for the spy series Kingsman. Even Tetris is a spy movie inspired by real events but will obviously be a bit creative.
In the film, Rogers travels behind the Iron Curtain, where he meets inventor and developer Alexei Pajitnov. What follows is difficult negotiations, eavesdropping, and a struggle to bring the exciting dice game outside the USSR (and get rich on it).
The film will also be available in the Czech Republic on Apple TV+. March 31. The father of Tetris Pajitnov was played by Nikita Efremov, directed by John S. Byrd (you may know his unorthodox comedy Pig). Matthew Vaughn is also worth mentioning as one of the producers who has directed three films in the past from the aforementioned Kingsman series or the Kick-Ass comic.
Tetris is one of the best-selling games – on some charts it even takes first place. The Tetris company itself recently stated that it has already sold at least 520 million units, if you count all possible versions, including for mobile devices.
