The development of Sherlock Holmes The Awakened adventure game is almost complete, as we recently published impressions of the demo. In the originally planned period, at the end of February or the beginning of March, the game will not be released in the end. The developers from Frogwares announced this in a video that also shows new gameplay footage and the current position of the developers in Kyiv.
There are several reasons. The rework is quite demanding because they need to debug as many bugs as possible and get the game ready for release on multiple platforms at the same time. But the main reason is the power outages caused by the Russian attack on Ukrainian power plants, which understandably slowed down the entire development significantly. Frogwares employees have to alternate between office and home depending on where the current is running, perhaps several times a day.
However, despite all the difficulties and the constant threat of missile strikes, the delay is short. New goal for developers end of March or April this year.
Sherlock Holmes The Awakened is out on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.
Despite our best efforts to meet our February/early March release window, near-daily power outages and rocket attacks forced us to reschedule everything. Therefore, we have decided to postpone the game for a few weeks, moving it to the end of March/April 2023.
