At last year’s The Game Awards, we saw a rather unexpected discovery of a new strategy from the world of the famous Dune book series. The game, subtitled Spice Wars, was created by Shiro Games, which you may know from the Evoland series or the Northgard real-time strategy game, for example. Their new game also takes place in real time, but combines an established genre with elements of 4X.
While it’s only been a few months since the original announcement, in that time we’ve seen a few playable factions or footage straight from the game. And yesterday, the developers came up with the most important news.
We found out the long-awaited release date, at least in terms of early access, in which the game will spend some time. The announcement certainly pleased the fans, because Dune: Spice Wars will already be released on Steam 26 Aprilin less than three weeks.
In addition, the authors boasted of the fourth playable faction, which they Free, the native inhabitants of the planet Arrakis. We already know that we will also be able to play as Harkonnen, Atreides and Smugglers.
You can add Dune: Spice Wars to your Steam Wishlist. Despite the early release date, we don’t know the official price yet.
We are proud to announce a playable Fremen faction AND that @DuneSpiceWars has an official Early Access release date, and players will be able to set foot on the dunes of Arrakis starting April 26th!
