The RTX 4070 is said to go on sale in April.

In January, we saw the release of the RTX 4070 Ti graphics card, but even that is quite expensive, and many buyers are still waiting for cheaper models. The first of them may arrive very soon. Videocardz magazine got hold of classified information that Nvidia passed on to its partners. There is no exact release date in the documents, but they say that the card should arrive in April. However, the editor of Videocardz adds that, of course, this is still subject to change.

According to the latest insider information, the RTX 4070 should offer 5888 CUDA cores and 12GB of GDDR6X memory. The number of CUDA cores is exactly the same as in the RTX 3070 model, so the performance gain over the previous generation will probably not be very large, the card will mainly benefit from a newer architecture and a better manufacturing process.

The Meteor Lake processors are expected to provide over 50% performance improvement per watt.

Famous insider OneRaich posted on Twitter new information about the upcoming Intel Meteor Lake processors. According to him, they should improve efficiency by more than 50% compared to the Raptor Lake (13th generation) CPU. The integrated graphics chip is supposed to have nearly 2x the performance, which makes sense given that Intel should be using the Alchemist architecture from dedicated Arc graphics cards. On the contrary, the increase in IPC for large Redwood Cove cores is considered not too large and will be about one percent. This is in line with how this architecture is presented, as it is primarily aimed at laptops where efficiency matters most.

It’s still not clear if Meteor Lake will make it to desktop. If that’s the case, it’ll most likely be early next year because it’s been said for a while that only the Raptor Lacquer update will arrive later this year. But perhaps there will be a complete skip and the new desktop architecture will be Arrow Lake. This is not the first time Intel has released new processors exclusively for laptops.
