Rhythm action ride Hi-Fi Rush from the Japanese studio Tango Gameworks, thanks to its many undeniable qualities, it has delighted many players since Bethesda Softworks unexpectedly announced it over a week ago and immediately released it on PC and Xbox Series X|S. But now it seems that the game could especially please fans of the horror series The Evil Within.thanks to which Tango Gameworks became known on the map of the gaming world.

Hope we can uncover it in Hi-Fi RUSH, two characters appear here and there, which are clear nods to the first volume of The Evil Within. since 2014 and which, at least in some cases, is quite hard to miss. In short, whoever has played The Evil Within, or at least seen it for a while, it should be immediately clear to that person what is the best. But that’s not all.
The GamesRadar+ server recently drew attention to a fleeting moment in the cut-scene that opens the eleventh level of the game called Track 11: The Needle Drop. In it you can see the screen containing the text “News: A sequel to the popular survival horror game franchise has been announced,” in translation “News: Sequel to Popular Survival Horror Game Series Announced”. And there is only one popular survival horror series that is associated with the work of Tango Gameworks and the Bethesda Softworks portfolio as a whole – The Evil Within.
Certainly it may just be an allusion, i.e. easter egg meaningless. But then there is the question is why the screen appears so briefly in the cut-scene. We tested it ourselves on the Steam version (because some of us actually bought Hi-Fi RUSH instead of relying on Game Pass) and you really just have to glance at the wrong moment and you barely notice the screen. In addition, he led the development of Hi-Fi RUSH. John Yohanaswho served as game director during the development of the great Evil Within 2 since 2017. And although the continuation of the less successful original ends in a way that doesn’t necessarily require the existence of a sequel, it definitely offers elements on which a potential sequel could easily be built..
However, no one from Bethesda or Tango Gameworks has yet officially commented on this issue., so we can only speculate if this is just a nod with no deeper meaning, or a nod to what Tango is currently up to. In closing, however, it’s worth recalling that all of Bethesda is now owned by Microsoft, which allows it to function as before for the most part, but prevents new games from being released outside of PC and Xbox.
So if The Evil Within 3 really happened, we would probably have a case of limiting a full-fledged continuation of a multi-platform series to only a part of the platforms, on which you can play the previous parts (of course, they also came out on the PlayStation). And we’re afraid we’ll have more than enough of that anti-client approach even without The Evil Within, whether it’s Bethesda Game Studios’ The Elder Scrolls VI, MachineGames’ new Wolfenstein, or id Software’s possible next effort in DOOM. or the Quake series. But I would love to be wrong.
