Valve is preparing a summer update for Team Fortress 2

The unbelievable became reality. We were already starting to think that on a more or less official level we would be related to the classic multiplayer shooter. Team Fortress 2 just the artists with their sandwich quests and the individuals behind the data breach. But then came the Valve studio itself, dusted off the musty official website of the game and made a call through it that suggests that existing players will receive more this year than in recent years.

In particular, Valve has had a habit of offering Halloween and Christmas updates to players for years as part of official updates, which usually consisted of adding new, community-created maps and cosmetic items. During the summer months, at least cosmetic items were introduced. These efforts have always seemed to be the bare minimum of care., which no one at Valve bothered to significantly change over the years. What will probably be the one it’s been a long time since almost no one at Valve really worked on Team Fortress 2, although the figures for the number of active players on Steam are still solid. But now someone has come up with the idea to offer little more than a box of cosmetic birds this summer.

On the official Team Fortress 2 website, Valve is inviting modders and community developers to upload them to the Steam Workshop by May 1 this year. content that could be part of the full summer updateprepared by the studio. It might be about cosmetic items, cards, taunts, unusual effects or colors (war paints). Apparently, Valve employees will also be choosing from content that does not have a specific summer theme, so who knows what the as-yet unnamed update may end up with, which may not even have a specific theme.

However, some caution is needed. Or at least restraint. While Valve is talking about a complete revamp, it’s better not to expect Team Fortress 2 to have something comparable to, for example, the Jungle Inferno update from five years ago, which, following the pattern of game updates from the past, also offered new weapons and achievements, not to mention a short video made in Source Filmmaker. On the one hand, the developers from Valve once made it clear that they do not consider Jungle Inferno a success, on the one hand So far, all indications are that the studio wants to elevate the summer patch to Halloween and Christmas levels..

Perhaps Valve will eventually surprise. But for starters, it will certainly be enough if we see the official launch of some good cards. After all we have seen cases in the past where ideas conceived in this way did not work.or later found out that the collaboration with the community was only meant to replace the content that the folks at Valve managed to lose or remove.

Although we don’t know about the others, it would be more than enough for us if someone had already finished the big Team Fortress 2 comic. The sixth and so far the last part of the comic came out as early as 2017, which makes us feel 20 years older, And at present, everything points to the release of the seventh and final volume to bring about nothing less than a real miracle. And to believe in miracles in the case of the Valve studio for the last decade is not very recommended for health reasons.
